Brooklyn Nets forward Jared Dudley called out Michael Salfino of The Athletic for saying that the team has no fan base.

The Nets have always been considered as the ‘minor' New York team because of the presence of the Knicks. However, they have been far more successful than their bigger counterpart over the past decade. Sure they have not won a championship, but they've had playoff appearances during that span.

It's a bit harsh for someone to say that the Nets have no support even from Brooklyn, as it was evident during their brief playoff run that people were cheering for them.

However, maybe they can turn that narrative and perception around this summer by signing one of the top free agents in the market. There are multiple rumors circulating around the league saying that Brooklyn is one of the preferred destinations of All-Star guard Kyrie Irving. And it seems that the Nets are making the necessary moves to make this happen after trading Allen Crabbe to the Atlanta Hawks to free more cap space.

But for Dudley, the Nets have a loyal fanbase. It's not as prominent compared to other teams, but he knows that there are people in Brooklyn who's been cheering for a long time.
