The Brooklyn Nets are looking for ways to get back on the right track after an atrocious start to the season. It seemed like Kenny Atkinson found a solution to their woes as his team managed to stifle James Harden, Russell Westbrook, and the rest of the Houston Rockets to the tune of 123-116. However, there's more to this game than simply the Nets managing to contain a top offensive team in the Rockets.

The Nets head coach was caught doing something that you wouldn't normally expect to happen in a basketball game. He was holding up a sign in such a way that you'll only see in collegiate football games.

Atkinson eventually gave light on the reason behind his strange yet funnily effective coaching method.

What Atkinson said makes sense. Since the team is still trying to get themselves used to playing with a star like Kyrie Irving, it's understandable that there will still be some defensive lapses. However, having a clear message on what they should do will definitely help the team defend better.

Since the Nets got the win, Atkinson's antics are a huge success. However, it may have been quite embarrassing for the Nets players to see their coach holding up signs for them. It must have felt like having an overenthusiastic father watch your games and cheer you as loudly as he can.
