The matchup is set. Kevin Durant's Brooklyn Nets are taking on Jayson Tatum's Boston Celtics in the first-round of the NBA Playoffs.

Everyone saw the Nets as the deadly 2-7 matchup coming into the postseason but the Celtics held firm on the 2-seed for a rematch of their 2021 first-round clash.

But almost a year before the seedings were set, Kevin Durant was already warning his future opponents. After the medal games during the Tokyo Olympics, KD was propping up his future Nets teammate Patty Mills, who dropped 42 in the bronze medal game for Australia.

He then followed it up with a warning towards Boston right next to then-future Celtics coach Ime Udoka and definitely within earshot of Jayson Tatum

“Ay, yo! Patty coming back to the BK. Black and white. There's going to be problems for them Boston Celtics this year. I'm telling you!” Kevin Durant said right next to Udoka.

You better believe the Nets superstar is going to be a massive problem for Udoka, Tatum, and the Celtics to contain.

Boston isn't the same team that they were last season, forging an identity on defense and playing with a chemistry that had them as arguably the best team in the East during the second half of the NBA season.

But the Nets are arguably the scariest 7-seed of all-time. Safe to say the matchup will be one worth watching.
