Kevin Durant has been doing his absolute best to carry the Brooklyn Nets this season but he did spend a substantial amount of time on the shelf with a knee injury. Nonetheless, KD is still playing at an extremely high level as the Nets try to get into the playoffs and hopefully make a title run.

This time around, it's a different feeling for Durant than the days in Golden State. KD is extremely comfortable in his surroundings and sees himself staying with the Nets for the distant future.

“I’m settled,” he says. “It’s good to know that I don’t have to look over my shoulder and worry about the next season or the next two years. Just knowing that three or four years that I’m locked in, I can start living my life on and off the floor with a little bit more ease. It’s a good place to be in.

“We’re all going to evolve and change, no matter what,” he says. “I got a long way to go to keep evolving as a human being, but I like where I am at this point.”

KD is under contract with the Nets until 2026. Whether they fulfill their championship aspirations or not in 2021-22, the future Hall of Famer is around for the long haul in Brooklyn.

Steve Nash's squad is currently in eighth spot with a 40-36 record, which means they'll need to partake in the play-in tournament unless the Nets can gain serious ground on the Raptors in a hurry. But with Kyrie Irving now playing on a full-time basis with his running mate, Durant won't have to carry the load as much. What they will need to do though is play better defense, or else another early playoff exit is going to become a reality.
