Kevin Durant was completely unstoppable on Sunday night, both on and off the court. After dropping a season-high 51 points against the Detroit Pistons, the Brooklyn Nets' superstar did what he always does — scour Twitter for mentions of his name. Well, Durant found something that piqued his interest and took no prisoners as he savagely roasted a reporter on the social media platform.

The victim of this exchange was sports reporter Kylen Mills, who questioned the Pistons' lack of a double team against Durant on what was his final basket of the night. The comments from Mills were met with harsh criticism from fans who had witnessed KD drop 51 despite frequently having two, or even three, defenders draped on him. NBA Twitter instantly accused Mills of not having watched the game and commenting on a matter in which she was ill-informed.

Durant was well aware that he wasn't being loosely guarded during his highlight-reel performance, and made sure to take a shot at Mills for her backwards take while celebrating the Nets' win.

Durant's 51 points on Sunday night were the most points scored by a player in a single game during the 2021-22 NBA season, surpassing Stephen Curry's 50-point outing against the Atlanta Hawks back in November. KD shot 16-of-31 from the field and 5-of-10 from 3-point range en route to his 51. He also provided nine assists and seven rebounds, while posting a +/- of +25 across 41 minutes.

On the year, Durant is averaging a league-high 29.4 points alongside 7.6 rebounds and 5.4 assists. He's shooting 52.9% from the field and 38.3% from 3-point range, making a strong case for himself as the NBA MVP when all is said and done.
