The Brooklyn Nets may have to wait a couple more weeks before they get to have Kevin Durant back on the floor. Durant is currently nursing a left hamstring strain and is set to have another scan regarding his injury before the Nets bring him back on track for his return to action.

The Nets are being cautious with the ramp-up of All-Star Kevin Durant (left hamstring strain), meaning he’s likely to miss another one-to-two weeks, sources said. Nets coach Steve Nash said Durant will have another scan on his injury this week.

Prior to sustaining his injury, Kevin Durant found himself in the MVP conversation with his averages of 29.0 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 5.3 assists through 19 games played this season.

Durant has been out since Feb. 13 when he paid a visit to his former team in the Golden State Warriors. He notched 20 points, five rebounds, and six assists en route to a lopsided 134-117 win. Due to his left hamstring strain, though, Kevin Durant has failed to get back on the court and join his teammates since then.

His injury caused him to miss the 2021 All-Star Game. He had been selected to be one of the captains alongside Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James. Amid his absence, the Nets are still surging with a four-game winning streak bannered by the stellar showing of both Kyrie Irving and James Harden.

Blake Griffin is also ramping up his preparations due to an injury in his left knee. The Nets faithful can expect their team to be even more dangerous when Kevin Durant returns to full health in the next few weeks.
