Nothing has changed: Kevin Durant and the Brooklyn Nets are still determined to part ways and find a suitable trade. However, as it has been repeatedly reported, the New York franchise are willing to drag it out if they don't get the offer they want.

Shams Charania of The Athletic noted as much in his recent interview with The Rally, noting that the whole process could take weeks or months–or even the whole offseason. Sure enough, several teams are interested in KD, but the Nets' asking price make it really difficult to get a deal done quickly.

Considering that the Nets are asking for superstar players and a “boatload” of picks in return for KD, any deal would need multiple teams to facilitate it.

“All conversations are open for teams to call, reach out, submit offers. Teams like Suns, Heat, Raptors, Warriors. Those are among the teams that are gonna be at the forefront trying to pursue a Kevin Durant deal. But given the asking price that has already been set forth, this is a process that could take several weeks, could take several months, could take the remainder of this offseason,” Charania explained.

For what it's worth, it has been reported earlier that the Nets are even willing to head into training camp with Kevin Durant still on the team. They know what they want, and if they can't get it, they are said to be willing to work things out with KD and Kyrie Irving.

Of course that could be the Nets saying they won't budge with their asking price since they have complete control of the future of the two players. Nonetheless, that also means there won't be a lot of movement when it comes to the deal any time soon.
