Eight games. That's how many times the Brooklyn Nets Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving has played together this season. Brooklyn head coach Steve Nash has acknowledged the team's lack of chemistry at this point and has come to the admission that right now, his team is going to be in survival mode.

Heading into what should be a tough first-round test against the Boston Celtics, Nash revealed his concern about his Big 3's lack of game time as a unit:

“We know it, we accept it, we recognize it,” Nash said of his team’s lack of shared playing time, via Ryan Chicester of Audacy. “We don’t have the luxury of a full season together…and most of our competitors are running this back for years three, four or five. So we’re not going to have that.”

No beating around the bush for coach Nash here. As a player, he's one of the greatest point guards in the history of the game, so Nash has a clear appreciation of the importance of team chemistry. As such, all he's hoping for right now is that his Nets survive their current conundrum:

“It’s what we accept, what we understand and we can’t control that,” Nash said. “The cohesion is going to have to come in time. How can we be good enough to survive until it becomes more well-rounded? That’s as much a challenge as any.”

While Steve Nash does have a point here, it's hard to overlook just how much talent the Nets have on their roster. They have three of the best players in the NBA today on their squad and while the lack of team chemistry is indeed a potential issue, this does little to downplay Brooklyn's chances of going all the way this season. That's just how good they are.
