36-year old power forward Luis Scola has stuck around on the free agent market longer than most guys. Finally, he's found a new home.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski of The Vertical, Scola has agreed to a one-year deal with the Brooklyn Nets.
The Nets already added Jeremy Lin and Greivis Vasquez in free agency, but they really needed to bolster their frontcourt after the departures of Thaddeus Young and Willie Reed. Given his multi-faceted skillset and Brooklyn's overall lack of depth, Scola could start.
Article Continues BelowScola has career averages of 12.3 points and 6.8 rebounds, and last season with the Toronto Raptors he put up 8.7 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 0.9 assists per game while shooting 45 percent from the floor and 40.4 percent from three-point land.
There are some flaws on Scola's stat-sheet, though; the Raptors performed 12 points better for every 100 possessions when Luis was on the bench compared to on the floor. That doesn't bode well for a Nets team that many project will finish with one of the worst records in the league this coming season, again.
