The Portland Trail Blazers are on some kind of funk right now. They have lost all of their last four games, a stretch that includes their 88-82 defeat at the hands of the Denver Nuggets on the road last Monday. Adding to the Blazers’ worries is shooting guard C.J. McCollum’s shooting slump that he has yet to shake off.

That being said, McCollum seems to be not concerned by it at all. For McCollum, it’s just a normal phase any player could go through in the NBA, and that his focus is still on the next game and regaining his touch back, per Jason Quick of NBC Sports.

“I mean, you want to be playing your best basketball at the end of the season but you can’t get caught up in the poor performances or the great performances,’’ McCollum said. “It comes with the territory. All you can do is just give it your best, prepare, watch film, and figure out ways to attack.’’

McCollum is also being aided by his fearless approach to each game and the humble acceptance that failure is part of an NBA player’s career.

“Failing doesn’t scare me,’’ McCollum said. “Failing is part of succeeding, so I don’t get caught up in emotions and all that stuff.’’

C.J. McCollum has averaged 16.3 points over the Blazers’ current losing skid, but he has also shot a horrendous 32.5 percent from the field. He’s worse from beyond the arc, where he has gone 18.2 percent. The Blazers; recent losses came on the road, so a return to Moda Center could flip the switch for McCollum.

The Blazers will end their regular season at home this Wednesday against the visiting Utah Jazz.
