Kyrie Irving had another solid game for the Boston Celtics on Monday, leading his team to a 112-111 victory over the Indiana Pacers on the road. He top-scored once again for his team with 30 points, to go along with a rebound and four assists. However, what many are not putting a lot of emphasis on is his eight total clutch points on the night, which helped the Celtics pull off the come-from-behind win.
Those eight points has now allowed him to take the lead over his former teammate with the Cleveland Cavaliers, LeBron James, for the most points in the clutch this season, with a total of 87 so far.
With 8 clutch-time points in rally vs. Pacers, Kyrie Irving slips back in front of LeBron James for most clutch points in the NBA this season.
Kyrie with 87 points in 57 clutch minutes. LeBron with 85 points in 65 minutes. Next closest: Lillard (70 pts, 77 min)

Kyrie Irving is continuing to silence all his critics, especially after he was traded to the Celtics. Many doubted if he can be a true leader, and so far he has shown his ability to be the go-to-guy of this Celtics team, taking over games when it matters the most.
It will be very interesting to find out who will finish the season with the most clutch points. For what it’s worth, it could be bragging rights for the one who tops the category, and also a confidence booster for the playoffs.
