The Boston Celtics will reportedly be missing the services of Marcus Morris for an extended period of time due to a nagging left knee injury. He is currently working with the team to find ways to get it back to 100 percent, according to Shams Charania of The Vertical, and there’s no specific timetable for his return yet.

Already without Gordon Hayward, Morris’ absence will be a huge blow to the C’s, and will leave them thin in their forward rotation. He has been playing well this season, and in the 16 games he has appeared in, is averaging solid numbers of 12.1 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists in 24.2 minutes.

If there’s any good news for the Celtics at this point, Jayson Tatum has proven so far this year that he is ahead of schedule in his development, and could hold his own when given an additional workload. He is expected to see an uptick in his usage with Morris out, while head coach Brad Stevens may also opt to use the combination of Al Horford and Aron Baynes more, which will give them a very tall frontcourt.
