Robert Williams hasn't gotten off to a good start with the Boston Celtics, and it now looks to have gotten worse. In his first Summer League game, he left after playing 6:45 minutes with a left knee contusion.

He banged knees with a Philadelphia 76ers player and left the game immediately. He did return to the bench in the second half but had an ice pack on his knee, and did not return to the game.
Article Continues BelowAfter a nice career with the Texas A&M Aggies, Williams slipped on draft night all the way until late in the first round. His time with the Celtics got off to a rocky start and had to make some inside the organization scratch their heads. First, he overslept his first media press conference call, which was blamed on a miscommunication. Williams then missed his flight and missed the team's first summer league practice. Williams took all the blame for missing the plane and said it was a real wakeup call.
“It’s all on me,” Williams told reporters Tuesday, a day after he missed practice via NBC Sports. “So we’re going to push forward and move past that.”
“Missing my flight didn’t help,” he said. “I talked to Coach (Brad) Stevens when I got back and he obviously explained to me about the opportunity. There’s not that many. So, definitely a real wakeup call.”
It doesn't sound like Williams will be disciplined by the team, but hopefully, these are all wakeup calls for him, and the knee injury isn't serious so he can get back on the court soon.
