Charlotte Hornets point guard Terry Rozier won't play on Wednesday against the Detroit Pistons due to left knee tendinitis.
Fortunately, according to Rick Bonnell of the Charlotte Observer, Rozier's tendinitis is not of regular-season concern. The Hornets open the season on Oct. 23 against the Chicago Bulls at home.

The Hornets are essentially handing the keys to the offense to Rozier, who is replacing All-Star point guard Kemba Walker.
Rozier and Walker were traded for each other this summer. Rozier signed a three-year, $56.7 million contract with the Hornets as part of a sign-and-trade with the Boston Celtics. Walker, meanwhile, signed a four-year, $140.8 million deal with the Celtics.

Rozier had a down season in 2018-19 because he was back to being a bench player after Kyrie Irving returned to the lineup for Boston. Rozier played well for the Celtics during the 2018 playoffs when he was the starter.
In 19 games during Boston’s postseason run in 2018, Rozier averaged 16.5 points, 5.3 rebounds and 5.7 assists while shooting 40.6 percent from the field and 34.7 percent from beyond the arc.
With the Hornets, Rozier will be the full-time starter and won’t have to look over his shoulder. The Hornets are excited to see what the rugged defender can do as a permanent starter in the NBA.
For his career, Rozier averages 14.4 points and 5.1 assists as a starter.
