Not a lot of fans may remember, but current Cleveland Cavaliers power forward Kevin Love was once an even more dominating monster than he is today. As the unquestioned star for the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2010-2011 season, Love greatly increased his scoring average to 20.2 points per game, from the season before, to go along with a league-leading 15.2 boards per contest. During this period, the now-Cavs star also set the record for most consecutive double-doubles since the NBA and ABA merged in 1976.

According to Justin Kubatko of Stat Muse, Love had a total of 53. Only Moses Malone has ever come close to this streak with at least 50 of his own.

Since his days in Minnesota, though, Love has generally struggled to find the form that made people consider him as arguably the best young big man in the league. Upon joining the Cavs in 2014, his aggressiveness, drive, and overall ability to take over a game were put into question as he embraced a role as the team's third option on offense.

However, he enters this upcoming campaign as the leader of a young Cavs team, after agreeing to remain with the team for four more seasons. He has a golden opportunity to recapture his glory years and prove that there’s a lot still left in his tank.

Maybe having the ball more in his hands as the focal point of their attack could help Love come close to that streak again.
