The Cleveland Cavaliers have been playing without some of their more talented players for some time, but it seems as if they’ll be getting a key piece back in time for tomorrow’s game against the Miami Heat.

According to The Athletic’s Joe Vardon, Larry Nance Jr. was a participant during today's Cavs practice, and expects to return for the team for their game against the Miami Heat tomorrow night. The Cavs have lost their last five games in a row, so any help they can get will be crucial to trying to get back into the win column.

Speaking to reporters after the practice, Nance discussed how excited he was to finally be ready to return to the court. “Life without basketball is boring. I’m excited I get to be back out here with my guys, helping us fight.” he said.

With a record of 9-40, the Cavs are just ahead of the New York Knicks and Phoenix Suns with the worst record in the NBA. Currently, Cleveland has been forced to start players like Ante Zizic and Cedi Osman thanks to their current injury situation, so the possible return of a player like Nance – who leads the team in steals and blocks per game – will undoubtedly bring some competitiveness back to the team.

Prior to his injury, Nance Jr. was averaging 8.8 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 3.2 assists per game, which are higher than his career averages.

With players like Kevin Love finally able to be traded this year, many experts believe the Cavs to be looking to dump off some assets in an effort to collect as many future picks or young players as they possibly can.

In the meantime, expect the Cavaliers to continue trying to develop the young players on the team already as they prepare for what looks to be a season that ends in another top draft pick for the franchise.
