With all the deals and signings of teams this summer, one thing that was expected to be in their front office’s minds is to form the best lineup possible in order to contend against the Golden State Warriors. Following the Dubs' signing of Kevin Durant a year ago, they successfully kept their core intact this offseason and are once again geared for another title run.

However, when the Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics agreed on a blockbuster deal on Tuesday that sent Kyrie Irving to Beantown in exchange for a package that includes Isaiah Thomas, many thought of it as a good move for the Northeast Ohio team as they received an All-Star point guard, as well as a defensive ace in Jae Crowder. The 27-year-old small forward is believed to be the missing piece for the Cavs, in their hopes of containing Kevin Durant, should they once again meet in the Finals.

Warriors forward Andre Iguodala was reminded by one fan about Crowder’s addition to their rivals’ fold, but the former Finals MVP did not appear to bat an eye.

The Dubs were able to avenge their loss to the Cavs last June, with Durant playing a huge role in winning their second title in three years. He signed a new two-year deal with the team earlier this summer, and even left money on the table to help the organization keep their core and fit their salaries in their books.

The deal Cleveland pulled off deserves a lot of credit as they remained patient and waited for the best offer they received for Irving. Now, the only question that remains is if the additions they made are enough to topple the Warriors.
