The Dallas Mavericks (2-6) will look to end their two-game road trip on a positive note when they face the Washington Wizards (1-8) on Saturday night at 7:00 p.m. ET on MNMT. Ahead of the matchup, the Mavericks released their latest injury report featuring star forward Anthony Davis.
Dallas officially listed Davis as questionable with a left calf strain, marking a potential return after missing multiple contests. The 32-year-old last appeared on October 29 in the Mavericks’ 107-105 win over the Indiana Pacers, where he played just seven minutes before exiting with the injury. He finished that game with four points, four rebounds, and a steal.
In his first full season with the Mavericks, Davis has been a consistent force on both ends when healthy. Through five games, he is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and 1.2 blocks per contest while shooting 52% from the field and 27.3% from beyond the arc across 29.8 minutes per game. His availability against Washington could provide a much-needed boost for a Dallas team struggling to find offensive rhythm.
Anthony Davis, Daniel Gafford receive questionable status for Mavericks-Wizards matchup

The Mavericks also listed center Daniel Gafford as questionable with a right ankle sprain. Gafford recently returned to action after missing the start of the season and made his debut in the team’s 122-110 loss to the Detroit Pistons in Mexico City on November 1.
Since returning, Gafford has appeared in four straight losses, including Friday night’s 118-104 defeat to the Memphis Grizzlies in their NBA Cup group stage matchup. He played 12 minutes before leaving with the injury, recording one rebound as his lone stat while missing his only shot attempt.
Gafford, 27, is averaging nine points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.3 blocks, one assist, and one steal per game while shooting 71.4% from the field in 19.8 minutes. His interior presence and defensive activity have been key for Dallas’ frontcourt rotation, which has been thin due to injuries.
The Mavericks enter Saturday’s contest aiming to snap a four-game losing streak before returning home. Following the matchup in Washington, Dallas will open a four-game homestand on Monday night against the Milwaukee Bucks (6-3) at 8:30 p.m. ET. With Davis and Gafford both uncertain, the Mavericks’ frontcourt depth will once again be tested as they seek to turn their early-season struggles around.
