The entire world is still grieving the loss of one of the NBA's most legendary superstars, Kobe Bryant. That includes the Dallas Mavericks organization. In the Mavs' game against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, head coach Rick Carlisle rocked a rare pair of Kobe retro sneaks in honor of the late Los Angeles Lakers legend, per Angel Franco of The Dallas Morning News.
Mavs head coach Rick Carlisle wore a pair Bryant’s Kobe Protro Chaos 5 shoes.
“These are becoming very rare, I hear. So I’m keeping them, keeping the box,” Carlise said. “I’ll try to hit my equipment up for as many of these as I can.”
Since Bryant’s death, Nike announced that several of the legendary players’ shoes and merchandise has sold out. The shoes Carlise wore could be found on secondary sites being sold from anywhere between $275 and $550.
Awesome gesture from the 60-year old mentor.
Dallas played its first home game since the tragic incident. The Mavs opened Tuesday night with a tribute video for Kobe Bryant and the rest of the eight victims, including Bryant's daughter Gigi, who tragically died in a helicopter crash on Sunday morning.

Mavs owner Mark Cuban also announced shortly after the devastating news of Bryant's passing that no other Mavs player will wear the number 24 ever again.
The Mavs had countless battles with Bryant and the Lakers throughout the years. And for Carlisle personally, he also watched Bryant hoist up the NBA championship in 2000 while serving as an assistant coach for the Indiana Pacers.
Even though Kobe broke their hearts on numerous occasions, it did not stop Carlisle and the rest of the Mavs organization from the honoring the career and the life of one of the greatest players to ever step foot on an NBA court.
