The Dallas Mavericks simply had no answers for the Boston Celtics in Game 1 after losing the contest 107-89. There was a glimmer of hope at one point though, as Dallas brought it back to single digits in the second half. But it wasn't enough to keep the game competitive.
However, it sounds like three-time NBA Champion, Danny Green, isn't worried about the Mavericks despite the blowout loss. During a guest appearance on The Draymond Green Show brought to you by The Volume, Green revealed he believes Dallas will bounce back once Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving find their footing.
“Once [Luka Doncic] settled in, he's found something… Now [Kyrie Irving] just has to settle in. Once that happens… We're gonna have a series.”

Danny Green makes a great point. Once Doncic and Irving get going the Mavericks should be able to compete much more effectively. But they must make the necessary adjustments if they hope to beat the Celtics in the NBA Finals. If not, then it could be an easy series for Boston.
Considering Dallas looked sluggish in Game 1 it's completely reasonable to believe they'll bounce back. It is a seven-game series and losing the first contest isn't the end of the world. But winning Game 2 would go a long way as the Mavericks would steal home-court advantage in the NBA Finals.
It's a tough task though, as the Celtics have been the best team all season long. They can score from anywhere on the court and match up well against most opponents. So, the Mavericks are going to have to play near-perfect basketball if they hope to pull off the upset in the NBA Finals.

How the Mavericks take Game 2 over the Celtics

First and foremost, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have to be much more consistent. The Mavericks' superstar duo combined for 42 points, with 30 of them coming from Doncic. Additionally, the team couldn't get the assists rolling, as the Celtics played stellar defense throughout the night.
On top of more consistent offense from Doncic and Irving, the Mavericks need their role players to step up. They have to find a way to improve on both sides of the court. Slowing down the Celtics' role players from scoring is essential for Dallas to get back in this series. Additionally, the bench has to contribute offensively to give their team a chance.
Overall, the Mavericks didn't look like their regular selves in Game 1. They'll have a chance to get back on track in Game 2 which tips off on Sunday, June 9 at 8 P.M. Eastern.
