Dirk Nowitzki is without a shadow of a doubt the greatest player in Mavs franchise history. Slowly climbing his mountain, though, is Dallas superstar Luka Doncic, who at just 23, has the potential to someday dethrone Dirk from his stature as the Mavs GOAT.

As it turns out, however, this is actually already transpiring right before Dirk's eyes. In a recent Twitter confession, the Mavs legend admitted that even his own friends have begun turning on him:

“Germans friends that come visit always buy jerseys. I say: hold on let me get a sharpie and they say: oh no. That’s ok. This is actually Luka’s. Do you mind getting it signed… 🙄” Nowitzki tweeted.

That's hilarious. I can only imagine the disappointment on Dirk's face once his friends tell him that the Mavs jersey isn't even his. To add insult to injury, they even want him to have the shirts signed by Luka. It also sounds like this isn't a one-time thing and that it's a pretty common occurrence for Dirk and his buddies.

It's all in good fun, though. Dirk is a huge fan of Doncic and he appreciates how special this young man is. As a matter of fact, it wasn't too long ago when Nowitzki himself dubbed Luka as the Mavs GOAT.
