Dirk Nowitzki is an all-time great. There is no debating that fact. He is a first-ballot Hall of Famer and will go down as the greatest player in Dallas Mavericks history. He hasn't definitively stated that this will be his last season, but it's clear that his career is winding down. Now, in what could be his final season, the Mavs icon is looking to cement his legacy in the record books.

Over the years, the German big man's best known for his scoring and shooting, but he's been remarkably durable as well. Ben Rohrbach of Yahoo Sports points out that Nowitzki is closing in on a number of notable milestones.

He can eclipse Karl Malone in games played if he plays in 34 games. He can also move past Wilt Chamberlain on the all-time scoring list if he scores 262 points.

Dirk was one of the pioneers for big men who like to shoot from behind the arc. He's now close to cracking the top-10 on the all-time 3-pointers list. Additionally, Nowitzki is close to entering top-25 all-time in rebounds.

The German would not have been able to achieve any of this if he had not been so durable. He's never played fewer than 47 games in a season and that came his rookie year. For the most part, he's played a full season every year in his career.

Things will be different in Dallas when Dirk Nowitzki decides to finally hang it up. But his legacy and aura will live on through his records and accomplishments.
