Dallas Mavericks legend Dirk Nowitzki thinks Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis are “going to be great together” and hopes the duo will be the cornerstones of the Mavs for the next decade.
The Mavs acquired Porzingis from the New York Knicks in a blockbuster trade. Many around the league believe KP and Doncic are going to be Nowitzki-Steve Nash 2.0, but Dirk says the two youngsters might be even better than he and Nash were.

Luka is bigger than Nashy, so he can make plays that Nashy could never make. And Zinger is even longer than me and more athletic and shoots it super easy from deep. He’s a good dude, hard worker — he wants to be great. We hope to see that combo in Dallas for a long, long time.”
Luka Doncic has taken the league by storm this season and is the front runner to win the Rookie of the Year award. The 19-year-old is averaging 20.8 points, 7.1 rebounds and 5.5 assists per game while shooting 43.3 percent from the field, 34.8 percent from beyond the arc and 72.2 percent from the free-throw line.
Kristaps Porzingis isn't going to play this season, as he's still recovering from a torn ACL he suffered last season with the Knicks. The 7-footer said at his introductory press conference in Dallas he's going to bother Nowitzki and pick the future Hall of Famer's brain whenever he can.
