After a rather surprising 21-point blowout on opening night against the Phoenix Suns, the Dallas Mavericks have notched two straight wins in three days. With momentum on their side, the team has been given a further boost with the announcement that forward Harrison Barnes is expected to make his season debut on Friday when the Mavs play in Toronto against the Raptors.

NBA insider Marc J. Spears broke the news on Twitter.

This coincides with head coach Rick Carlisle's statement on Monday, saying that the 26-year-old was set to miss two more games.

Barnes has been out of commission for a good part of a month now after suffering a right hamstring injury in preseason practice. However, it looks like it's all systems go for Barnes, who is set to make his first appearance for his team on Friday.

Harrison Barnes signed with the Mavs in 2016, following four successful years (including one championship in 2015) with the Golden State Warriors. His four-year, $94.4 million deal is set to expire at the conclusion of the 2019-20 season. However, he has a player option next season which means that Barnes can opt to sign with another team next year.

It will be interesting to see how Barnes will assimilate himself to the new-look Mavs side that acquired the services of highly-touted rookie Luka Doncic and veteran big man DeAndre Jordan over the summer. We should have our first look of this combination (including the outstanding Dennis Smith Jr.) on Friday when Barnes finally takes the court against Kawhi Leonard and the Raptors.
