Signs are pointing to Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic returning from his calf injury for Game 4 against the Utah Jazz on Saturday afternoon. While Mavs head coach Jason Kidd wouldn't confirm anything when asked about it on Friday, he hinted at the strong possibility of Doncic's return.
See for yourself:
When asked if he is "optimistic" about Doncic playing in Game 4, Kidd did call that "a good word."

The man himself said he's not sure if he's going to get the green light to play, but he will be participating in full scrimmages again on Friday:
Luka Doncic will do some 5-on-5 scrimmaging for the second straight day. He says he doesn’t know yet if he’ll get the green light for Game 4.

Based on all this, it sure seems as if the Mavs star will indeed play on Saturday as long as he comes out of the scrimmages with no setbacks. Dallas could still wind up being extra cautious with Doncic, but Kidd claims the series being 2-1 in favor of the Mavs has no bearing on the final decision.
The fact that Dallas is up 2-1 on Utah is a testament to Kidd and the rest of the Mavs. After dropping Game 1 at home, they bounced back with a much-needed win in Game 2 and then went on the road and destroyed the Jazz's defense by putting up 126 points. Jalen Brunson and his Mavs teammates continue to exploit the weaknesses of Utah's perimeter defense, neutralizing Rudy Gobert's dominance in the process.
Doncic coming back will only make things more difficult for the Jazz, assuming he's back at full strength. Dallas has a massive opportunity to take full control of this series and earn a chance to end the series back at home in Texas.
