Kristaps Porzingis was one of the biggest names that saw himself traded to a new team prior to Thursday's 3 p.m. deadline. The 26-year-old will now part ways with the Mavs after three years as he makes his move to the capital to join the Washington Wizards.

Porzingis took to Twitter to send a heartfelt farewell message to the city of Dallas and his Mavs teammates on the eve of his move to the Wizards:

“Since day 1 the fans and the city of Dallas welcomed me with open arms and I will always be grateful for that,” Porzingis wrote. “To my teammates, coaches, organization and the city THANK YOU! I wish you all continued success”

The Mavs sent Porzingis to the Wizards along with a future second-round pick in exchange for Spencer Dinwiddie and Davis Bertans. Dallas has finally decided to pull the plug on the KP experiment after three injury-riddled years for the 7-foot-3 big man. The partnership between Luka Doncic and Prozingis had a ton of promise, but unfortunately, injuries got in the way of these two fully reaching their full potential as a duo.

In two and a half seasons with the Mavs, Porzingis averaged 20.0 points (on 44.8 percent shooting), 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 1.7 blocks, to go along with 2.1 triples per game.
