The entire city of Dallas can sleep soundly on Thursday night as it seems Kristaps Porzingis' left ankle scare against the Los Angeles Lakers was simply just that: A scare.

After the game, Dallas Mavericks coach Rick Carlisle said Porzingis is “in good spirits” and it seems that his injured left ankle is doing fine (via Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News).

The often-injured Porzingis had to exit the game in the third quarter he landed awkwardly on his left ankle. He held on to it and appeared to be in severe pain before eventually limping out to the locker room.

Carlisle added at this point, it still not clear if the 7'3″ Porzingis would even need an MRI. Now that's something to keep the Mavericks' spirits up.

Porzingis only played 29 minutes and tallied 19 points on top of six rebounds. Hopefully, the pride of Latvia can ice his left ankle and be ready to suit again on Saturday as the Mavericks face the Lakers again in the second night a back-to-back set.

Aside from the positive news about Porzingis' injury, Carlisle should also be delighted that they escaped with a 115-110 against the defending champions, who welcomed back All-Star big man Anthony Davis. Though the Mavericks held on to the lead pretty much the entire game, the Lakers kept things close down the stretch.

Thankfully, it was Luka Doncic who once again saved the day for the Mavericks as his steady play helped them cling on to a huge statement win even with Kristaps Porzingis finishing the game in the locker room.
