There was a dangerous tornado which hit Dallas on Sunday, one which forced Dallas Mavericks point guard Seth Curry and his family to hide in their closet.
Curry, who signed with the Mavs this summer in free agency, opened up about Sunday night with Brad Townsend of the Dallas Morning News:
“It was serious. We were right in the middle of it, but we made out better than a lot of people in our neighborhood. . . I’ve been through some hurricanes before in North Carolina, but this was kinda scary.” https://t.co/iBEkGP7sM3

Thankfully, everyone in the Curry family is okay. Sometimes we have to put things in perspective and remember that life comes first before basketball.

The Mavs open their 2019-20 season on Wednesday at home against the Washington Wizards. Curry played for the Portland Trail Blazers last season. He averaged 7.9 points while shooting 45.6 percent from the floor, 45.0 percent from beyond the arc and 84.6 percent from the free-throw line.
This is Curry's second stint with the Mavs. The sharpshooter figures to get a lot of wide-open looks on the Mavs playing alongside stars Luka Doncic and Kristaps Porzingis, two players who command double-teams when they have the ball.
When Doncic is driving to the paint and collapsing defenses on him, he is going to be looking to kick it out to Curry, who will be roaming the 3-point line waiting for Luka to find him.
The Mavs are looking to make the playoffs this season, but it will be tough since the Western Conference is so rugged.
