The first domino of free agency has fallen with the Oklahoma City Thunder's signing of small forward Paul George. Now the attention has been funneled toward where all the other superstars on the market will go.

Among them is center DeMarcus Cousins. According to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated, he has scheduled meetings with the Los Angeles Lakers and New Orleans Pelicans:

New Orleans Pelicans All-Star free agent center DeMarcus Cousins received calls from the Pelicans and Los Angeles Lakers tonight once free agency began and is expected to have meetings scheduled with both teams soon, a source told ESPN's The Undefeated.

Meanwhile, the Lakers have been linked to every star player in free agency. So it should come as no surprise they have done their due diligence on Cousins. Los Angeles already took its first loss of the offseason after they snubbed by George in free agency. Their inability to even get a meeting with one of their hometown players has undoubtedly left a bad taste in their mouths. However, that has not stopped them from moving on to their next targets and have already met with Cleveland Cavaliers small forward LeBron James.
Cousins has been adamant about wanting a max contract wherever he goes. That said, it will be interesting to see which team is willing to do so.
