Entering Monday, the Toronto Raptors had the best record in the NBA, while the Denver Nuggets were tied with the Los Angeles Clippers for the best record in the Western Conference. The two teams met in Toronto on Monday, and the game came down right to the wire.

The Nuggets were up 106-103 with 5.6 seconds left in regulation. Raptors star point guard Kyle Lowry dribbled the ball up the court, looking to send the game into overtime. Unfortunately for the Raptors and their fans, the shot didn't go in, sealing a huge road win for the Nuggets.

The Nuggets are now 16-7 on the season. Denver star big man Nikola Jokic led the way by racking up a triple-double. Jokic finished with 23 points, 11 rebounds and 15 assists in 36 minutes. Jamal Murray scored 31 points while also registering seven rebounds and eight assists.

For the Raptors, they are now 20-5 on the year. All-Star small forward Kawhi Leonard was a beast as usual, finishing with 27 points and eight rebounds. Serge Ibaka tallied 15 points. Lowry struggled all night, finishing with just five points in 34 minutes.

The Nuggets are now in first place in the Western Conference by themselves. Denver head coach Michael Malone has done a phenomenal job with this team this season.
