Through his first eight seasons in the league, Detroit Pistons All-Star forward Blake Griffin has established himself as one of the top scorers at his position.
Griffin surpassed another major individual offensive mark on Monday night against the New Orleans Pelicans by surpassing 11,000 career points.

This latest mark is a testament to Griffin's offensively ability, being a high-volume scorer up to this point in his career. He has been able to average more than 20 points per game in seven of his first eight seasons that helped him earn the recognition as being one of the best power forwards in the league.

However, injuries have played a significant part in impacting his career as Griffin has missed big chunks of the last three seasons. It has been the stigma that has stuck with him that could have played a factor in his departure from the L.A. Clippers after seven seasons with the team.
That said, Griffin is still in his prime that could see him climb up much higher on the scoring list. If he's able to remain healthy, the Pistons big man has several more highly productive campaigns ahead of him while earning numerous individual honors in the process.
Griffin has quickly stepped into the leading offensive role for the Pistons in his first seven games, scoring in double figures in each contest while surpassing 20 points on five occasions. Although Detroit has struggled over the last couple of games after winning the first four contest with Griffin in their fold, his presence clearly has the potential to help lift the team in the playoff picture in the second half of the season.
It has already made a major impact on the play of All-Star center Andre Drummond, who has posted a double-double in each of the last seven games with two 20-point, 20-rebound outings in the process. The talented frontcourt duo of Drummond and Griffin could be the foundation where the Pistons find their success over the next several seasons.
