Detroit Pistons All-Star power forward Blake Griffin appears on course to return soon from his hamstring and knee ailments.
Griffin hasn't played this season due to lingering issues with his knee and a sore hamstring. However, the high-flyer had a workout and did some work in shootaround on Wednesday.
The Pistons' best player continues to be pain-free, according to Rod Beard of the Detroit News:
I wouldn't think Friday at #Bulls can happen, nor Saturday vs. #Nets, but Monday at #Wizards seems possible, if his knee/hamstring continues to be pain-free. https://t.co/oEx67z5vwO

Griffin appeared in 75 games last season. He put up 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, 36.2 percent from beyond the arc and 75.3 percent from the free-throw line.
The Pistons made the playoffs last season for the first time since 2016. They got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in the first round. Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to a knee injury which required surgery after the postseason ended.
The Pistons are 2-3 on the young season. Former MVP Derrick Rose has stepped up in Griffin's absence, but it's clear Detroit needs Griffin back if it wants to reach the playoffs again. Outside of Rose and center Andre Drummond, the Pistons just don't have enough players who are difference makers on offense without Griffin.
The Pistons take on the Chicago Bulls on Friday at the United Center.
