The Detroit Pistons will be without Blake Griffin on Friday when they take on the Boston Celtics.
Griffin has left knee soreness. The Pistons All-Star had left knee surgery after the 2019 playoffs ended and is still feeling the aftereffects of his procedure:

Griffin has been a shell of himself this season. He’s averaging just 16.3 points and 4.4 rebounds in 15 games while shooting 37.3 percent from the field and 27.0 percent from beyond the arc. Griffin has no lift or speed at the moment.

The Pistons are 11-17 on the season. They are in the 10th spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Former MVP Derrick Rose will have to continue his strong play for Detroit to defeat Boston sans Griffin. Rose is averaging 16.6 points and 6.0 assists in 23 games for the Pistons and shooting 48.3 percent from the floor and 86.4 percent from the free-throw line.
Griffin was a superstar last season. He appeared in 75 games for the Pistons and put up 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists per game. Detroit made the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks in part because Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to his knee injury.
The Pistons might have to blow up the roster and trade Griffin and Andre Drummond if the losing continues in The Motor City.
