The Detroit Pistons will be without Blake Griffin on Monday when they host the Washington Wizards.

Griffin has left knee soreness. He didn't play in the second half of Detroit's road win over the Houston Rockets on Saturday. The Pistons All-Star had left knee surgery after the 2019 playoffs ended and he's still feeling the aftereffects of his procedure.

Griffin has been a shell of himself this season. He's averaging just 16.4 points and 4.6 rebounds while shooting 36.7 percent from the field and 27.4 percent from beyond the arc. Griffin has no lift or speed at the moment.

The Pistons are 11-15 on the season. They are in the ninth spot in the Eastern Conference standings. Former MVP Derrick Rose will have to continue his strong play for Detroit to defeat Washington sans Griffin. Rose is averaging 16.4 points and 6.0 assists in 21 games for the Pistons and shooting 48.4 percent from the floor and 87.0 percent from the free-throw line.

Griffin was a superstar last season. He appeared in 75 games for the Pistons and put up 24.5 points, 7.5 rebounds and 5.4 assists. Detroit made the playoffs for the first time since 2016. They got swept by the Milwaukee Bucks because Griffin only played in Games 3 and 4 due to his knee injury.
