After a terrible start to his NBA career, it's safe to say that Detroit Pistons rookie Cade Cunningham has settled down. While they haven't been piling up the wins, the young star has definitely turned heads with his all-around play.

The Pistons absorbed their—look away if you're a fan—19th loss of the season after blowing their big lead against the Oklahoma City Thunder on Monday night, 114-103. Cunningham was a bright spot, though, finishing with 28 points, six 3-pointers, 12 rebounds, and five assists.

In the process, the No. 1 overall pick became the youngest player in NBA history to record the feat, beating the likes of Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James and Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic (via StatMuse).

The 20-year-old Cunningham is not even legally allowed to drink, but he's putting the NBA on notice. He has casually put up across-the-board numbers in the last few weeks, proving worthy of the top overall selection. The Pistons haven't had a lot of things to look forward to in recent years, but the former Oklahoma State standout sure looks legit.

Cunningham has a lot of competition for the Rookie of the Year plum, and not getting a lot of wins for the Pistons will hurt his chances. But if he keeps on piling up the production, it will be hard to dismiss him.

The Pistons will have a chance to bounce back on Wednesday against the Washington Wizards.
