Detroit Pistons big man Andre Drummond has significantly improved his free-throw percentage over the past two seasons. Now, he is apparently working on his 3-point shot.

During his team's game against the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night, Drummond actually beat the first-quarter buzzer by banking in a step-back triple.

This isn't the first, second or even the third time Drummond has made a 3-pointer this season. As a matter of fact, this represented the center's fifth triple in the 2018-19 campaign.

While that is obviously not much, it does show that Drummond is improving his touch, as evidenced by the fact that his effectiveness at the charity stripe has jumped from around 39 percent to around 60 percent since the end of the 2016-17 season.

The 25-year-old Pistons big man entered Wednesday evening leading the league in rebounding with 15.1 boards per game. In addition, he is averaging 17.4 points, 1.7 steals and 1.7 blocks over 33 minutes per game while shooting 52.9 percent from the floor and 57.3 percent from the free-throw line.

Drummond, who played his collegiate basketball at the University of Connecticut, was originally selected by the Pistons with the ninth overall pick of the 2012 NBA Draft.

He went on to average 7.9 points and 7.6 rebounds during his rookie campaign, and the following year, he racked up 13.5 points and 13.2 boards a night. Since then, Drummond has led the league in rebounding twice before this season, including last year when he recorded 16 rebounds per game. He has also made it to the All-Star game twice.

The Mount Vernon, N.Y. native owns career averages of 14.0 points and 13.6 rebounds per game.
