The trade that sent Blake Griffin to the Detroit Pistons has been a shocker for basketball fans around the world. While DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams have long been rumored to be on the trade block for the L.A. Clippers, the team surprisingly pulled the trigger on the deal involving their All-Star forward, which not a lot of people saw coming.

One can only imagine how difficult it is for a player to be traded, especially in the middle of the season, and Griffin definitely knows about it.

Back in 2016, the 28-year-old Oklahoma product showed off his talent in stand-up comedy. A clip of him even went viral, where he hilariously talked about NBA players getting traded, and compared it to husband-wife relationships.

As it turned out, Griffin will experience it first hand as he will now represent The Motor City. It can be considered a fresh start for him, and he'll also have the opportunity to team up with one of the best centers in the league today, Andre Drummond. The Pistons are currently in ninth place in the Eastern Conference but will receive a huge boost with the addition of the five-time All-Star to their fold.

It remains to be seen how successful Griffin will be with the Pistons. He is averaging 22.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 5.4 assists this season and if he can produce near the same numbers, or even surpass it, the team could make the playoffs and become a tough matchup for whoever they'll face in the early rounds.
