Jackson was sidelined with knee tendinitis discovered during the preseason and has been progressing, beginning practicing with the team in the last week.

In the meantime, the Pistons have started the season 11-10, which is currently good for eighth place in the Eastern Conference.
With Jackson out, the point guard duties have been handled by Ish Smith and Beno Udrih. Smith has averaged 10.8 points and 6.4 assists while Udrih is contributing 7.0 points and 3.5 assists a night.
Last season Jackson led the team scoring 18.8 points per night to go along with 6.2 assists per game.
