The Golden State Warriors hit a mini-jackpot when they landed two lottery picks in the 2021 NBA Draft. Sure, one was their own pick, a result of missing out on the postseason after losing in the play-in tournament. The other pick though, came via the Timberwolves as a final stamp on the Andrew Wiggins – D'Angelo Russell trade from 2020. Now, the Warriors have picks No. 7 and No. 14 overall.

Golden State is in a peculiar spot as a lottery team with multiple picks put plenty of superstar power on their current roster.

Stephen Curry played out of his mind this year and Klay Thompson will be back for next season. Knowing all of this, the Warriors have plenty of different routes they can take with their first selection. Here are three great options for the Warriors at No. 7 in the 2021 NBA Draft, ranked.

3.) Franz Wagner – Michigan

Franz Wagner would be a perfect fit for the Warriors.

He's a super high IQ player, doesn't turn the ball over, plays sound defense and can pull up and hit a three.

His shot will hopefully become more reliable in the NBA at least from a consistency perspective. Even with it needing some work, Wagner is an instant impact player who can play right away for the Warriors.

Bob Myers, the Warriors general manager, and the rest of the front office aren't in a spot where they are looking to draft projects. Even if the potential ceiling is through the roof, Golden State is trying to win now with the roster they have in place. They don't have time to carry along a developmental prospect. It's another reason why Wagner and the Warriors would be a perfect match for one another.

2.) Davion Mitchell – Baylor

Imagine a backcourt with Curry, Thompson and then rookie Davion Mitchell coming off the bench. That is pure nightmare fuel for any opposing team.

Mitchell really elevated his draft stock throughout the season, leading Baylor to a National Championship win over Gonzaga.

The Baylor product plays in your face, on ball defense and can lock up both guard spots. He's a good shooter already with a solid perimeter game. This is the kind of player the Warriors could've used last season with Thompson on the sidelines all year.

Mitchell is a spark plug that would fit well in leading the charge for the Warriors' second unit in his rookie year. His intensity and vocal leadership would play well for the second group.

He shot 45% from three-point land in his final season at Baylor and adding him to a group of Curry and Thompson could be lethal for the rest of the league.

1.) Trade back

Yes, it may be the most boring of the three options but keep in mind Golden State's situation. They aren't like other teams around them in the lottery that are trying to rebuild or continue to build upon a young roster. The Warriors are in win now mode.

Even with ready now options likely to be on the table in Mitchell and Wagner when the Warriors select at No.7, it may be most wise to try and bundle picks No. 7 and No. 14 and get a star in the league that could be had. Now, the Warriors might have to add in a player of their own if they are getting a true star back, it all just depends on what kind of star player we're talking about.

What would it take for CJ McCollum? Would pick No.7 and say Andrew Wiggins be enough? What's the price for Ben Simmons and would the Warriors view him as a good fit and worth it? Picks No. 7 and No. 14 along with Wiggins could perhaps entice the 76ers to pull the trigger on a move.

James Wiseman is another name to keep tabs on, the No. 2 overall pick from 2020. It has been noted and voiced that the Warriors do not plan on moving Wiseman in a trade but who knows if that could change if a superstar like Bradley Beal become available.

If there's a deal to be made that would result in the Warriors parting ways with the No. 7 and even the No. 14 pick to land a disgruntled star, it'd be hard pressed for Myers or anyone else in the Warriors front office to not shake hands on that deal.

The Warriors have a sour taste in their mouth after narrowly missing out on the postseason. Help is on the way with Klay Thompson returning and even more help has been piled on now that the Warriors have two of the top 14 picks in the 2021 NBA Draft.
