San Francisco, CA – Another game without Stephen Curry turned into another disappointing beating for the Golden State Warriors. Friday night, they dropped their fourth straight game in their last five tries. Coach Steve Kerr illustrated to the media what he felt was the issue in his postgame interview following a loss to the Atlanta Hawks.

“They spread you out, and they’ve got shooters everywhere.” Kerr continued. “Clint Capela's a load, so we just never had any traction defensively, and that's two nights in a row that's happened, so disappointing for a team that's been very good defensively all year. We're definitely in a funk at that end of the floor right now,” Kerr told Clutchpoints.

The Warriors have been one of the league's better defensive teams, but since the tailbone injury Stephen Curry suffered against the Houston Rockets, the Dubs have been severely struggling on defense. It comes as a surprise, being Curry isn't necessarily a prominent defensive player, you would imagine missing him wouldn't damage the team that much on the defensive end.

In the past two games against the Sacramento Kings and the Atlanta Hawks, the Dubs haven't been very competitive with back-to-back double-digit defeats. Players in both contests scored career highs as well. Thursday, the Sacramento Kings' De'Aaron Fox recorded 44 points, and John Collins of the Atlanta Hawks scored 38 on Friday night.

“I think we've lost a little confidence the last couple of games, and it just feels like the guys have let that affect them. We're going to have to dig our way out of it. That's the bottom line…But im confident that will happen,” Kerr said.

Friday's loss ended the Warriors' seven-game home winning streak vs. Atlanta. The Hawks last win over the Warriors at home came on February 25, 2011.
