You might want to get used to it, Kevin Durant. Or at least block it out.
Durant's decision to join the Golden State Warriors ruffled a lot of feathers. Not just around the league but with fans of the league.
Many hated the move and are expressing “hate” towards Durant for making it. In 2016, that translates to a lot of nasty things being said on social media.
Durant had to know this was coming but he admitted late last night that he still doesn't understand why it's like this.

Confirming the suspicions of many, Durant thinks deeply about these kinds of things. He cares about what his fans think and how he is perceived.
That's perhaps the most shocking thing about his decision to join the Warriors. Durant could have easily played it safe and just remained with the Oklahoma City Thunder. He would have kept his perfect image as the anti-LeBron by showing loyalty to the franchise that drafted him (sort of).
It was reported that was one of the factors that KD questioned the most before making his decision. He was worried about how this move would be perceived. It doesn't take a genius to figure out that it was going to be looked at this way and Durant was going to become a kind of villain. But he still made the move.
The hope for KD is that he doesn't allow the negativity to come to the forefront on his new team. We saw how that affected LeBron James in his first season with the Miami Heat. Durant wants to avoid that and the best way to do that might be ignoring all of the noise on social media.
