The Golden State Warriors were almost going to be without interim head coach Mike Brown in Game 2 of the Western Conference Finals against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday.
Why was Brown almost going to miss the game? Well, he almost got arrested.

“I’m going around behind the bus and I get this phone call. Gregg Popovich. I answer the phone and Pop is dying. He goes, ‘Mike, I didn’t know that was you. I’m sitting here. I see this black Range Rover. I see all these cops surrounding him. I see the car trying to inch forward. I’m like, he’s about to get arrested.’
“I said, ‘Pop! This is my own building!’ He said, ‘I know! When I saw it was you, I died laughing!'”
Spurs coach Gregg Popovich corroborated Brown's story but didn't provide much more information.

But while Popovich didn't say much, he did add that Brown's predicament was “so funny.”

With Brown able to make it to the game without getting in trouble with the police, the Warriors cruised to a 136-100 victory and now have 2-0 lead in the best of seven series.
