It's got to be great for Warriors head coach Steve Kerr, knowing that Kevin Durant will get to play with two of his other stars this summer in the Rio Olympics.

It will surely be an advantage for Golden State with Durant getting the chance to develop chemistry alongside Klay Thompson and Draymond Green for a month or so before the start of the NBA season.

As if the Warriors needed any more advantages.

Kerr spoke with the media recently and addressed Team USA, via The Mercury News:

“They look great,” Kerr said in a phone interview. “Not surprising, because none of them dominate the ball. All of them move the ball. One of the things that made (Durant) so attractive to us is that it didn't feel like it would be difficult to blend in.”

“It helps,” Kerr said. “I'm happy that they're spending the next few weeks together. Not only playing together but getting to know each other. All that stuff matters.”

It will be interesting to see how often Team USA coach Mike Krzyzewski plays the trio of Warriors together in Rio. It might be something the other 29 teams hope he doesn't do a lot of.

Integrating Durant won't be difficult for Golden State. KD is tailor-made to be inserted into the Warriors' offense, and the transition should be seamless:

“We don't have to change a whole lot of stuff,” Kerr said. “We'll probably plug Kevin into what we already do. … We can definitely add some things. Kevin makes any offense look better than it actually is. It's still about players sharing the ball. Playing with pace. Playing unselfishly.”

Time spent with Team USA always breeds unselfish basketball, so we'll see plenty of it from Durant, Thompson, and Green.

Durant and Thompson look like they will be starters on the team while Green should come off the bench. The three should play together some and when they do, Kerr will surely be watching.
