The Golden State Warriors have big plans for the 2021-22 NBA season. Injuries took over the last two seasons, and the Dubs are ready to get back on track. The Bay Area hasn't seen their team at full strength in so long some forget how good they were before injuries.
Before Kevin Durant and all the team drama.
Warriors NBA Season Predictions
Health Matters
First things first, the Warriors will get healthy and stay healthy for the entire year. Klay Thompson, who has been out with consecutive injuries, will make his return. With him getting back on the floor, it will give the team a morale boost and a boost in skill. You can never add enough shooting to a team, and Thompson's shooting isn't going anywhere. No matter how long he's not playing the game at full speed. Thompson might still be a prolific shooter when he's in his 60s. If he averages an efficient 16 plus points, the Warriors are going to be dangerous.
Second-year player James Wiseman would be returning to the team from injury as well. Coming back with a bit of experience under his belt, which should give him more confidence, could be scary. Whether he plays with the second unit or the starters, he can be an essential key to the Dubs' success.
Article Continues BelowBy the time season starts, Stephen Curry should be fully healed from the tailbone injury he played with last season. It didn't seem to slow him down a whole bunch, but it did to some degree. Maybe if the damage didn't occur, Curry would be a three-time MVP, and the Warriors would have made the playoffs.
Stephen Curry Snags Another MVP
That brings us to our next prediction, which is the two-time MVP becoming a three-time MVP award winner. Stephen Curry will win his third MVP in the upcoming NBA season. Having the team at full strength and winning more games could quickly propel him into winning the honor. On an average team last season, some felt he was the league MVP, so if the Warriors get back to being contenders, it will be tough for anybody to beat him out.
Last year Curry averaged a career-high 32 points per game while nearly making the 50-40-90 club. He probably won't average that many points in the upcoming season, expecting he has a team at full strength. That would make it safe to assume Curry would be more accurate with his shooting. He should make the 50-40-90 club and still average near 30 on his way to winning that third MVP trophy.
Warriors Win It All
The final prediction for the 2021-22 NBA season, the Dubs will win the NBA Finals. Yes, the Brooklyn Nets, Los Angeles Lakers, Milwaukee Bucks, and others might come to mind first when thinking about who will win the championship, but the Warriors are putting together something special. Bringing back Andre Iguodala for his veteran leadership on and off the court while getting the Splash Brothers back together feels right. If Draymond Green comes back in great physical shape, the Warriors will be contenders.
The youngsters playing with the second unit will make the Warriors a deep team. Steve Kerr will have a difficult time deciding who should play on a nightly basis and keeping guys happy, but winning fixes all of that. The Warriors will be the best team in the Western Conference at the end of the season, and they will go on to be the 2021-22 NBA champions.
