After smashing the single-season record for three pointers in a season (1,077), it was only appropriate that the Golden State Warriors break the single-game playoff record as well.

In their 121-94 win over Houston Rockets in Game 4 on Sunday, the Warriors knocked down 21 shots from distance, breaking the previous record of 20. The old record was recently matched by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday, and was also held by three other teams — the Warriors (2015), Dallas Mavericks (2011) and Seattle SuperSonics (1996).

Golden State hit seven of its 21 threes while erupting for 41 points in the third quarter.

If there was any team that was ever going to break the record, it was the Warriors, and it's safe to say their performance didn't shock many people:

But what made it all the more impressive is that Golden State did this without much help from Stephen Curry, who hit only one three and missed the entire second half with a sprained right knee.

Curry's fellow Splash Brother, Klay Thompson, led the record-breaking effort with seven threes on 11 attempts. Draymond Green also contributed four treys, while Andre Iguodala added three and Harrison Barnes had two. As a team, the Warriors shot 52.2 percent from beyond the arc.

The Warriors' three-point barrage helped them take a 3-1 lead on the Rockets in the first-round matchup, with Game 5 set for Wednesday at 10:30 p.m. ET.
