Something NBA fans are paying close attention to is the rumor of a Golden Warriors-Ben Simmons trade. Fans went crazy as the different stories circulated to various news outlets. If this were to happen, it would be costly. It would more than likely be too expensive to make a move.
Here are some reasons why the Dubs shouldn't make this trade.
Adding Simmons to the Warriors sounds good, but when you think about who the Dubs would send away, it changes the team drastically. As of now, the Warriors look like they will be one of the best shooting teams in the NBA. It would be a massive loss in that area unless Simmons is magically hiding he can actually shoot the ball really well. Every (other) player on the team hits the three at a pretty good percentage. Only Draymond Green and rookie Jonathan Kuminga are expected to struggle, but still have the confidence to take big shots.
Bluntly: Giving away shooters doesn't seem like the best idea, especially when it's Golden State's strongest area.
Picture the starting lineup now. When everyone is healthy, it could be Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, Ben Simmons, Green, and James Wiseman. You would have two of the greatest shooters ever, paired with two guys who don't shoot it all that well. Teams sag off of Green and Simmons often. The spacing on the floor could be an enormous problem unless one of the two has a breakout shooting year.

During the championship runs, Green putting in some baskets from beyond the arc was pivotal to winning rings. Simmons' main issue isn't him missing three-pointers. It's his flat refusal to take a shot from distance at all.
The Warriors are a team that likes to play with rhythm. The ball could be moving around and end up in the hands of a wide-open Simmons, and no shot would go up. That could mess up the momentum of a game.
A Warriors-Ben Simmons trade would be strange, even fun in theory, and when you have a player with athletic abilities like Simmons, you can figure it out to some degree.
However, the Warriors are thinking championship, and does a Ben Simmons trade equal that? It could happen, but it would be a huge gamble. A wager the Warriors shouldn't bet on unless they feel lucky, so we will have to wait and see what happens next.
