Free agent center DeMarcus Cousins has changed representation amid a dry market this summer after getting no reported interest for the second consecutive offseason. Boogie has enlisting a renown influential agent in Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.

Schwartz represents a strong clientele of NBA names, including Kemba Walker, Nikola Jokic, Kevin Love and many others.

The offseason has not been kind to Cousins, who opted to sign a $5.3 million deal with the Golden State Warriors for the mid-level exception, banking on a low-pressure situation that would give him the best chance to show the NBA world he had fully recovered from a devastating torn Achilles, which he suffered early in 2018.

Cousins played 30 games for the Warriors, but looked a shell of his dominant self upon his return to the court, nearly a full year from the date of his injury.

His free agent prospect did not improve during the playoffs, as he was sidelined for the majority of games with a quad tear — adding to the list of potential concerns for the 28-year-old big man.

It's been a rough go for Boogie, who was believed to be in line for a max-level contract during the 2017-18 season with the Pelicans, yet the sudden nature of his injury derailed those dreams, forcing him to start by proving himself yet again.

With a depressed market that saw the league spend a combined $3 billion in the first few hours of free agency, there's not much money around at this point, as the NBA awaits Kawhi Leonard's decision to start off a domino effect.
