DeMarcus Cousins received a ton of criticism when he decided to join the defending champions Golden State Warriors this summer. Some believe the 28-year-old was so intent on chasing a ring, it no longer mattered to him if he did it the “proper way” or not.
Cousins, who is currently recovering from a career-threatening Achilles injury, could not disagree more. In fact, the 6-foot-11 big man is adamant that he is motivated now more than he ever has been in his entire career.

I can't wait to get to that point just to show all the work I have put in, into this injury. I think you'll see it when the product is on the floor.”
Looking at his statement here, it is obvious Cousins has no intentions of just tagging along for the ride. He is confident he will be able to fully recover from his injury and bring a lot to the table for his new team.
Cousins did acknowledge he joined a powerhouse team that is the heavy favorite to lift the Larry O'Brien Trophy by the end of the season. Nonetheless, he understands they can't take anything for granted.
“But when it comes to this team, I mean, it's basically there,” he added. “You can see it on paper. On paper it looks great. Of course we've got to go in and put the work in, but the potential is scary for this team, and it's on us to bring that potential out.”
Cousins is not expected to make his debut for the Dubs for a while, but based on his current frame of mind, it seems like it's going to be well worth the wait.
