If he comes back healthy and proves his doubters wrong this season, his prospects at signing a long-term deal in 2019 will be much better. Not to mention, he'll have an excellent shot at winning a title this season.

After going down with his Achilles injury in January, his road back to the court has been long and slow. There's no doubt that Cousins is chomping at the bit to show he's still one of the best players in the league.

It's still unclear when Cousins will return to action and play his first game with the Warriors, but Golden State shouldn't feel the need to rush him back early. They should be fine for much of the regular season without Cousins, but they'll need him for a playoff push.

But until Cousins is back on the court, he'll keep using the haters as motivation to fuel his return.
