Draymond Green and the Golden State Warriors were heavy favorites heading into their Christmas Day showdown with the Los Angeles Lakers. However, the young Lakers squad pulled off a surprising blowout win against their state rival.

The Lakers ran away with a 127-101 win over the Warriors on Tuesday night at the Oracle Arena in Oakland. Warriors forward Draymond Green could not help but blame himself for their lackluster performance.

Green finished with just four points on 2-for-7 shooting from the field in 25 minutes. After the game, the 28-year-old admitted that he was a big disappointment, saying that he ruined their offense.

The three-time NBA All-Star said that he should have done something against Los Angeles' “gimmicky” defense. He added that he just needs to get better moving forward, especially now that they are on a challenging stretch this season.

Aside from Draymond Green, Klay Thompson also had a quiet night, finishing with just five points on 2-for-7 shooting in 33 minutes. Stephen Curry had 15 points but went 5-for-17 from the field, including a measly 2-for-8 clip from the beyond the arc.

Andre Iguodala tried to rally his team against the Lakers, as he ended up with 23 points off the bench, but it was not enough to lead the Warriors to a win. Kevin Durant tallied with 21 points on 5-for-13 shooting, including 3-for-8 from the three-point region.

With the loss, the Warriors dropped to 23-12 this season. Golden State is still second in the Western Conference standings behind the 21-10 Denver Nuggets. However, they are just a game ahead of the 21-12 Oklahoma City Thunder and 2.5 games ahead of the 20-14 Lakers.
